The Lightspeed referral code gets you £25 credit on your new broadband bill – use mine vadimsKTAA0 at checkout if you’re ordering anyway. I’ve been using Lightspeed since 2022, and the code works for both of us: you get £25 off, and I get £25 off as well – that’s the full exchange, no third party, no extra fee for you. That’s the short version. In the rest of this post, I’ll cover what changed in 2026, how to redeem the code correctly (the order of steps matters), and the bits that Lightspeed’s small print doesn’t make clear.
What the Lightspeed referral code gets you in 2026
Using a Lightspeed referral code at checkout gives you a £25 credit added to your broadband account. This credit appears once your connection is live and your installation is successfully completed.
If you’ve come across older posts (including mine) mentioning “two months free broadband” for referrals, that was the original offer. Lightspeed quietly switched to a straightforward £25 credit model in 2025, and the current details are now listed in their small print and on the About page at lightspeed.co.uk. So, the verified current offer is a £25 credit, not two free months. I’ve updated this post to reflect that.
The £25 credit can be combined with any promotional pricing Lightspeed is offering at the time, so you can enjoy it on top of a discounted monthly rate.
My referral code: vadimsKTAA0
Feel free to use my personal code, vadimsKTAA0, by entering it in the referral field when placing your order or telling the agent if you’re calling at 01775 830 075.
If you’d prefer to use someone else’s code, that’s perfectly okay! You might ask a friend who’s already a Lightspeed customer or check out local Facebook groups like the PE10 Villages, where codes are often shared. The great news is that no matter which code you use, the benefits are the same!
Who qualifies and what the small print actually says
Before you get excited about free money, it’s helpful to understand the conditions Lightspeed sets. Here are their published terms for you to consider:
- You must be a new Lightspeed customer. If they have your details in their database from a previous account, the referral won’t apply.
- The code must be entered at the point of order, not added afterwards. This is the bit most people get wrong.
- You’ll need to sign up for a residential 12 or 24-month contract.
- Both you and the referrer must be successfully installed and live on the service before either of you sees the credit.
- You can’t refer someone from your own household.
- If you cancel your Lightspeed service, any unused credit is forfeited. It has no cash value.
This is pretty similar to other ISP referral programs, but it’s helpful to know about it so you won’t be caught off guard.
How to use the Lightspeed referral code (step-by-step)
You have two options to redeem it. Going online is quicker, but calling might sometimes get you a better deal if the agent is flexible that day.
Option 1: Order online
- Check availability at your postcode first at lightspeed.co.uk/check-availability. Lightspeed’s network covers the East of England (Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, parts of Cambridgeshire) and parts of the West Midlands. If your postcode isn’t covered, the code won’t help.
- Choose your package (see the current options in the next section).
- Go through the checkout process.
- When you reach the referral/promotion code field, enter vadimsKTAA0.
- Complete your order and book an installation date.
Option 2: Order by phone
- Call 01775 830075.
- Tell the agent your postcode so they can check coverage.
- Mention that you want to use the referral code vadimsKTAA0 before they process the order.
- Confirm the code has been applied before you hang up. Ask them to read it back.
The only thing to keep in mind is that you can’t add the code after you’ve placed the order. Lightspeed’s system considers referrals as part of the order creation, so adjustments can’t be made afterwards.
Current Lightspeed packages (verified April 2026 promotion)
Prices change monthly as Lightspeed refreshes its promotions, so I’m sharing the latest available rates. These are for the 24-month contract. Limited-time offer.
- 150Mbps: £24.99/month, £0 Activation fee
- 500Mbps: £29.99/month, £30 Activation fee
- 1Gbps: £29.99/month for the first 24 months, then £39.99/month. £0 Activation fee
- 2Gbps: £34.99/month for the first 24 months, then £65.99/month. £0 Activation fee
- 5Gbps: £79.99/month for the first 6 months, , then £89.99/month. Free eero Max 7 and eero 7 mesh
Every plan includes a WiFi 7-enabled Amazon eero router to keep you connected. The 1Gbps and 2Gbps options come with the upgraded eero 7 Pro for enhanced performance. There’s no activation fee for packages currently on promotion, while the 500Mbps plan has a £30 activation fee.
For those who need it, Lightspeed also provides a symmetrical 5Gbps plan, though this is quite rare in UK residential broadband, ensuring you have options tailored to your needs.
Two things worth knowing that other providers don’t do:
- No mid-contract price rises during your minimum term.
- Symmetrical speeds, meaning upload matches download. This is genuinely useful if you work from home, upload videos, or use cloud backup.
Is the Lightspeed referral code worth using?
Honestly, it’s a small reason, but I think it’s worth mentioning. £25 isn’t exactly life-changing – it’s about a month of basic broadband. But since you were planning to order anyway, and it only takes ten seconds to enter the code, it makes sense to take advantage of it.
What’s more worth scrutinising is whether Lightspeed itself suits you, not whether the referral scheme is generous. The service is best suited for:
- Households in the East of England or the West Midlands within the coverage area.
- People who want symmetrical upload speeds (remote workers, streamers, anyone uploading large files).
- Households running multiple 4K streams, gaming consoles, and video calls at the same time.
If you’re outside the network area or your household mainly uses broadband for light browsing and standard streaming, a more affordable 100Mbps plan from an Openreach-based ISP could be just right for you.
What happens after you sign up
Once you place the order with the referral code attached:
- Lightspeed will confirm your installation date, typically two to four weeks out.
- The engineer installs the full fibre line and connects your eero router.
- The £25 credit is added to your account after you’ve been live on the service. In my case, it appeared on the following month’s bill.
- I will receive my £25 credit on my account. That’s the whole exchange.
If the credit doesn’t appear, contact Lightspeed’s customer service directly. They’ve resolved every case I’ve heard about without pushback.
Does the Lightspeed referral code still work in 2026?
Yes, the referral scheme is active. The only change is the reward itself, which moved from two months free broadband to £25 credit in 2025. The code vadimsKTAA0 is still valid and has no expiry date.
Can I use a Lightspeed referral code after I’ve already placed an order?
No. The code must be entered at the point of order, either in the online referral field during checkout or mentioned to the phone agent before the order is processed. Lightspeed does not apply referrals retroactively.
Do I need to be a Lightspeed customer to share my own referral code?
Yes. Only current Lightspeed customers get a special referral code, which you’ll find in your welcome email or inside your online account. If you’re not a customer yet, you can use someone else’s code, but you’ll need to wait until you’re a customer to generate your own.
Is the £25 credit paid as cash?
No. It’s applied as a credit to your Lightspeed broadband account, reducing your bill. Any credit remaining when you cancel the service is lost. It has no cash value.
Can I use a Lightspeed referral code with other promotions?
Yes. The £25 referral credit stacks with Lightspeed’s standard monthly promotional pricing. You can combine the code with any available discounted introductory rate when you order.
Where is Lightspeed Broadband available?
Lightspeed operates its own full-fibre network across selected towns and villages in the East of England (Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and parts of Cambridgeshire) and in parts of the West Midlands. Coverage is postcode-specific, so check availability on their website before ordering.
What contract lengths does Lightspeed offer?
The referral scheme applies to both 12-month and 24-month residential contracts. The 24-month contract usually comes with a lower monthly rate. Rolling monthly contracts aren’t part of the current offer.
How long does the £25 credit take to appear on my bill?
It’s applied after both you and the referrer have been successfully installed and are live on the service. In practice, that means it appears on your first or second monthly bill after your installation.
The Lightspeed referral code is not the headline reason to switch. The headline reason, if there is one for you, is symmetrical full fibre with no mid-contract price rises in an area that Openreach has been slow to upgrade. The £25 credit is a small bonus on top of that. Use vadimsKTAA0 at checkout if you’re ordering anyway, and we both benefit by £25.
If Lightspeed isn’t in your area yet, there’s nothing the code can do for you. Check the postcode first, then decide.
